Iraila 2022

Description

Iraila 2022 marks a new chapter in the history of Remírez de Ganuza, being the winery’s first wine made entirely from 100% Garnacha. It comes from old vineyards in the plots La Rad (1975) and El Convento (1966), located in the high, cool areas of San Vicente de la Sonsierra.

Aged for 11 months in a combination of 228-litre French oak barrels and 400-litre ceramic amphorae, Iraila expresses the purity and elegance of the Rioja terroir, with a fresh, floral and balanced character. Only 1,800 bottles were produced, making it a wine as exclusive as it is authentic.

Awards and Recognitions

  • Inaugural vintage with high expectations from international critics.
  • Recognised for its innovation and artisanal approach within DOCa Rioja.

Remírez de Ganuza, founded in 1989 in Samaniego (Rioja Alavesa) by Fernando Remírez de Ganuza, is one of Spain’s most prestigious wineries. Its philosophy is based on absolute respect for the grape and the vineyard, applying meticulous manual selection and precision winemaking.

With Iraila, the winery reveals a new facet: the pursuit of the purest expression of Garnacha, merging tradition and cutting-edge technique in a limited-production wine that combines structure, freshness and aromatic finesse.
